Physician Extender

Jason Uhlenhake, MS, LAT, ATC is a NATABOC-certified and a state-licensed athletic trainer. He earned his certification and licensure in 2002 and has been practicing since then. Jason joined Regenexx in June of 2014 as a physician extender. He works closely with the patients through all parts of treatment from initial evaluation through their rehabilitation.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in fitness management from Wartburg College in 2002 and completed his master’s degree in exercise science with specialization in athletic training from the University of Iowa in 2004. During his graduate studies, he was the graduate assistant athletic trainer at Iowa City High School where he provided daily coverage for the athletic teams.

Following graduate school, Jason worked at Simpson College as an assistant athletic trainer and lecturer in the athletic training program. In 2006, he took over as the head athletic trainer. At Simpson, he worked directly with several sports teams including football, baseball, wrestling, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s basketball. Jason has provided coverage at National Championships and has taught several classes in the athletic training program.

In his free time, Jason is an avid cyclist and competes in bicycle racing. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, playing cards, fishing, and being outside.  Jason continues to coach baseball at Simpson College where he is in his 11th season as an assistant baseball coach.
