Interventional Orthopedics
Interventional orthopedics offers a less invasive alternative to surgery through precise, image-guided injections to treat musculoskeletal injuries. Traditionally, this approach involved using drugs, lubricants, and injectates like hyaluronic acid, epidurals, and steroids, which can have long-term side effects. Recently, the field has expanded to include interventional orthobiologics, which uses biological materials, such as concentrated blood and bone marrow, to promote the body’s natural ability to heal and address orthopedic conditions. Regenexx specializes in these innovative techniques, providing targeted treatments that are less invasive than traditional surgeries, using precise image-guided injections of orthobiologics.
Regenexx Orthobiologics
Regenexx processes exclusively concentrate blood and bone marrow because they are well understood and comply with state and federal law. Our customized orthobiologic processing tailors concentrations to specifically treat each patient’s condition.
- Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP): Blood is drawn, processed, and platelets are concentrated to specifically treat the patient’s condition.
- Bone marrow concentrate: Bone marrow is drawn, processed, and cells are concentrated to specifically treat the patient’s condition.
Regenexx Procedures
Regenexx has been a pioneer in interventional orthobiologics since 2005. We have developed many processing and treatment techniques in use today. In addition, we have published roughly half of all research worldwide on the use of bone marrow concentrate, which contains stem cells, for the treatment of orthopedic injuries. As the owner of 24 patents in multiple countries, we are constantly refining our treatment protocols and developing new techniques.
Regenexx continues to innovate in interventional orthobiologics with a dedicated research and development team as well as a specialized research laboratory. In addition, we track results from Regenexx procedures in the Regenexx Patient Registry. We believe that bone marrow concentration and other blood-based treatments are not magical and that not all approaches are created equal.
